Natural Order - The Book

Most people think of The State as something without which human society would descend into chaos and confusion. This line of thought was expressed most forcefully by the English political philosopher Thomas Hobbes, whose Leviathan (1651) is still studied seriously today. In this book that is the bible for all statists, Hobbes said that without a State, human society would degenerate into a “war of each against all.”

Living in a Third World “predatory state,” I began questioning Hobbes’ ideas long ago – and here is a column of mine from the Times of India of almost ten years ago titled “Hobbes’ Mistake: The Rational Case for Anarchy.”

I argue that there is a “natural order” in civilized society because we all follow certain unwritten and unknown rules while going about seeking survival in markets. These rules include a respect for private property, and further rules about the rightful exchange of these properties.

I now offer my readers a new book of mine to read, titled Natural Order: Essays Exploring Civil Government & The Rule of Law. As is obvious, instead of turning the discussions towards anarchism, I have used the existence of the natural order to delve into the lost science of government, and reveal how wrong our Total Chacha State is in its thinking.

  2. I have been closely following the healthcare debate in US through the Internet. It is shocking that the leftists like Mr. Obama and Ms.Pelosi have had their way and now universal healthcare is reality in US.

If leftists can get away with this kind of legislation in US, then what hope do we have in India? In India the free market movement is still very weak. It is in its nascent stage. I am sorry to say this but Mr. Obama is setting a very bad example for India.

During his presidential election, Mr. Obama looked very smart and debonair, but since then he has proved to be a typical case of all style and no substance.

Today the USA govt. are giving free healthcare to its citizens, tomorrow they will be clamouring for free house, free telephone, free meals, and maybe for free capsules of VIAGARA. Why not!

The situation in the world is getting completely hopeless; there is no country that we can look up to. India and Indians have to chart their own path in future. We have to forget USA, because that country has ceased to exist.

Now (as Sauvik had said in one of his earlier blogs) USA has become USSA (United Soviet States of America). Soviet Union is back! The new Kremlin goes by the name of White House.

It is only a question of time before the leftists in India start clamouring about a similar healthcare bill for Indians. We already have that farce called NREGA. Now we will have a healthcare NREGA. That means more unemployment, more taxes….
