It was just the other day that I wrote of how the Prohibition of Ganja-Charas through an Act of Parliament displayed "ignorance." The Act was passed by MPs who are blind to our Ancient Culture & Tradition - and represents a "misuse of force." Today, let me discuss another such instance - the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act.
The word "compulsory" implies State Force will be used against any who refuse this "free" good. Most of us have bunked classes - and there must be many who bunk school altogether. Parliament has ordered that State Force be used against them. All kids must be in school - or else.
There is a young lad of 19 who works as a restaurant chef here. He has been in this line for 6 years now - and has never been to school. These young chaps who cater to foreign tourists possess much "knowledge" that The State cannot ever teach - like making excellent bruschetta. Or mixing the perfect mojito.
I told the boy to be proud of his knowledge, and to never feel inferior to those who know how to read books. I told him that this was a great line of work, and his future ought to be bright. "What would you do to anyone who forces you into school?" I asked him. "I will kill him," he replied.
It is the mentality of baboos and white-collar clerical workers to over-estimate the value of schooling and "education." In the real world of the market economy, the wealthiest people are not those produced by "education": like sport and movie stars, fashionistas, music and movie stars, and including top chefs. Even in the old days, scribes were not wealthy. The butcher was always wealthier. As were the brewer and the baker.
There is a section on "the resentment of white collar workers" in Ludwig von Mises' The Anti-Capitalist Mentality (pdf here - go to page 17) which begins with the following statement:
Such people look down upon those they consider "manual workers" and over-estimate the value of their own "education" - which is really nothing much more than "training." In India, this feeling is almost universal - and that is why these people support State Education, even by Force. They willingly pay our the "education tax." The mainstream editors all loudly cheer.
Crazy people, crazy rulers.
The people are crazy to ask The State for knowledge.
The rulers are crazy because they only misuse force.
Bandar ke haath mein talwar.

Sitting behind a desk and committing words and figures to paper, he is prone to overrate the significance of his work.
